INTERVIEW with Fraser Kershaw
"Driven by capturing the shifting feelings from image and sound, to somehow provoke the human experience. I've collaborated with Francis Ford Coppola on 'Distant Vision,' now known as 'Live Cinema.' I played a key role in the globally broadcast Earth Day film 'Behind the Water' and have engaged with universities worldwide, involving students as professionals in my projects. Recently, I adopted a wild cat named Kiki, whose presence has surprisingly curtailed my travels, affording me the opportunity to focus on creating a short film for your consideration."

How long have you been doing movies? How did you decide to start making movies?
Off and on through time. When the feeling is right we naturally start something that makes us move into action.
Are you happy this project has reached Spain? What do you think about our venue at Verdi Cinemas? Life is full of surprises and it's hard to say exactly, but the grand theater is so modern and classy with hints of ancient history from Barcelona cobblestone.
More than 3,000 filmmakers from 76 countries have attempted to enter our esteemed Costa Brava Film Festival. How does it feel to be here?
I love Barcelona and I'm grateful for the moment.
How long did it take from the initial idea to being able to release?
Over a decade.
Are you happy with the result?
It was originally to showcase a new way of reviewing film with fellow film friends, they seemed to like it.
The Summer of Love has now played globally across the film circuit. How does that feel?
Unexpected, and feels great to know people still enjoy community experiences within potential public experimentation.
How has your experience been with the festivals so far?
It's like walking into a different portal each festival. A new country, a new culture, a new taste.
With 13 wins thus far, what is your favorite part of collecting the wins?
I don't know yet, I'm still counting...I generally disregard the win, but when it comes with so much more, it's hard to describe.
With your new project set throughout Europe in 2026, will you have time to visit us again?
Yes. I will come right through your city again.
What do you ask for in the future? (cinematographically speaking)
We are going to be ourselves soon as a society, where we won't have to make stories for companies, agencies, or grants to survive.
If you want to know the truth of any story see who is funding it. That's the premise of every beating heart within the lights.
Your best experience in a movie theater?
The best, some of the best memories with family, high school dates, or on a rainy day all alone with popcorn stains all over a new shirt.
